It’s cool tool!

Wow, this worked great and the price was right! I needed to reroute a 2” line from my pool filter selector valve. A new valve was $400. This tool allowed me to cut the return pipe and ream out the section inside the hub of the valve so I could glue in a longer length of pipe needed for the job. No need for a new selector valve now! Good stuff all around!

This item worked very well and saved me a lot of time and expense on pool pipe repairs. The person who did the piping before made the connections too close to the equipment, so I needed to remove the old pipe without damaging the equipment… I tried using heat and I tried cutting it out but I still had glue and pieces of old pipe stuck. This worked great.. I used a smaller one first and then this one to get all the old pipe out.

Easy to use and for the money is the go tool for the DIY’er I was concerned as the pipe broke off unevenly in the fitting but, the guide kept it centered and removed it perfectly. Well worth the cost to give it a try verses all the work and expense of cutting out old fitting and replacing

Had a pipe fitting (clean out) that was sunk into concrete and cut level and capped, but I had to raise the concrete by 1.5 feet meaning that I needed to glue in an extension pipe. This meant I had to somehow remove the old pipe from the concrete and the fitting. It took some time, but this tool did the job and saved the fitting (which is buried into the original concrete) and let me glue in a new pipe to raise up to the level of the new concrete.All in all, job done and it saved my bacon.

This tool removed pipe from a Jandy diverter valve and a couple of regular 2 inch elbows without issue. I sanded the roughness out of the fittings afterwards and globbed the new glue on extra thick and everything is holding great. No leaks. As others have mentioned the guide washer is sized for 2 inch schedule 40 so if you need to remove some other type of pipe or adapter from a 2 inch fitting you might not find it works so easy, but for common schedule 40 pvc pipe like used in pools and spas this thing worked great for my application and has earned a spot in my plumbing toolbox.

I'm impressed. I've seen these sorts of things for several years as "professional' models with finely machines surfaces and cutters, costing in the $60-80 range and as a active DIYer just not willing to fork out the cash for my uses... till I came to "The Fitting Sarcophagus" you know, the fitting barely poking out of a concrete slab with another fitting right on top and the need to cut that off and change the layout. So bought this and did a test on a mockup and with no real learning curve felt it would work well for my purpose. So I cut the pipe and reamed out the fitting in the cement without any drama and glued in a new bit-o-pipe and was on my way in just a couple minutes. Works well for schedule 40 PVC. As another reviewer noted, there is a guide bushing in front of the cutting bit and that bushing must fit inside the pipe you are removing. The bushing keeps the cutting bit centered in the pipe that is being removed while the larger cutting bit follows behind and removes the pipe.The guide bushing on this product is sized for schedule 40 pipe. If you have schedule 80 pipe the wall thickness is increased, resulting in a smaller inside diameter and the guide bushing on this product will not fit.
