Reseña del editor Josh Fix s Free at Last (1650 Entertainment) se mueve con la energía natural y destinada de un hombre haciendo lo que nació para hacer. Cada una de las docenas de canciones amplias y vibrantes está exquisita y minuciosamente elaborada, logrando una impecabilidad que no es forzada. Free At Last no es un ejercicio autoindulgente para escribir sacarina, canciones pop hinchables que se deleitan con comprensiones ingenuas del viaje de la vida. De hecho, Fix infunde sus melodías de Queen, Ben Folds y Elton John-esque con letras mordazmente inteligentes que caracterizan a un hombre cuya vida no ha sido ajena a la tragedia, la lucha y la plataforma petrolera ocasional. Ambicioso y extenso, el disco está arraigado en composiciones maníacas y hinchables de piano rock que evocan una unión polígama entre ELO, Queen y Todd Rundgren. Fix escribe de nuevo en primera persona, lamentando un trabajo mundano de 9 a 5 que obstaculiza el propósito de tu vida (Don t Call Me in the Morning) para recuperarse de un corazón roto (Free At Last).
