The adapter was connected faster than I could get my phone ready to record it.I'm on DSL for several reasons; but my 10 MPS connection works for us (so far).My old adapter was starting to drop; and I decided to try this one before it quit completely.I chose the USB-3 because my Ideapad has more places to plug one in that the Type C.I do wish this had a hub attached; but I can use my old adapter as my hub, with this one plugged into it.This is a great GB adapter; and the asking price is very reasonable.

I tested the product on a laptop. The bandwidth paid for is 75 Mbps down, 10 up. Both Using the product and just connecting directly to an RJ45 jack showed similar results on Ookla (88 Mbps down and 10 Mbps up). The latency using the product on one test was in the 200s and subsequently in the 70s. The latency for wiring into the RJ45 was 43. I did not test enough to explore further if there was a big difference in latency. In terms of casual web browsing, I was satisfied.I ordered the product to use to have a wired connection for Nintendo Switch. The Mbps down using the product was 49 and 4.8 up. Using Wi-Fi, the Mbps down was 35 and 4.5 up. I was satisfied that the product worked and was an improvement over Wi-Fi, even where the Wi-Fi was in close proximity.I was able to use the product …

I was having a problem with my server that I thought was related to the gigabit ethernet port on the motherboard going bad, so I picked up this USB-Ethernet adaptor.- Plugged into a USB2 port, Windows shows file transfers at 30-40MBps (around 300Mbps). Reasonable since USB2 only supports 480Mbps.- Plugged into a USB3 port, Windows shows file transfers at 113MBps (1Gbps): this adaptor pegs at 1Gbps when connected to 1Gbps equipment (switch and router).- After transferring about 15GB at 113MBps (a bit over 2 minutes) both ends of the adaptor were still stone cold.Of course I know nothing about long term reliability, but the fact that this adaptor maxes out the transfer rate of my other networking equipment, and it stays cool, and it's reasonably cheap, makes it a winner for me.

Standard USB to Gigabit NIC. Devices recognized as a Realtek adapter immediately on Windows 11. Speeds over my fiber were 700 Mbps Download & 500 Mbps upload.After pushing about 350 Gb through the adapter, it got pretty warm. I wanted to push more but was a bit worried about damaging the adapter.Overall, normal usage will be perfect.
